My name is Lynne, but my husband of 46 years calls me Lynnie Ellie,
so consequently that's what the site is called.
I am a native of N. W. Washington state, but over the years
I've lived up and down the west coast, as well as in Arkansas,
and finally, and lastly I hope, in north central Kansas.
My years in the west instilled a special love of the sea, which I
try to express in my seascapes. Inland influences have really been
working on me over the years though, and I find I love painting the
subtle beauty of the mid-west.
I am a born again Christian, and give God all the glory for what He
has allowed me to do. I know none of it is of me, but all of it is of Him.
One of my presents on our first Christmas together was a small, kind of
student quality set of oil paints. I'd drawn all my life, but had
never gotten into the real thing. My first venture in oils was to
make a painting of a ceramic pig we'd gotten in Tijuana.
Trust me, you wouldn't want to see it, and I wouldn't show it
to you if you did!
Mercifully, it's long gone.
Over the years and with a
lot of work, things started to somewhat come together.
I'd always been scared to death of trying Watercolors, until one
day several years ago I severely injured my back. Unable to stand at
my easel for some time, I was about to go nuts from boredom. Somewhere
along the line, someone had given me a few watercolor paints.
I thought well, what's lost except a piece of paper. My first watercolor
painting was Rock Creek and my second was Balm Creek Reflections.
Recently I've been picking up Pyrography (wood burning to most of us),
and Dremel carving, occasionally using oils, pyrography
and carving all on one piece.
You can get hold of me through my site, or the address
and phone numbers listed below.
May God Bless you mightily.
